Assignment 4: Final Frottages

and the Moon

I unfortunately didn't capture the process as I was too engaged in it to remind myself to stop and take a photo. I did, however take photos of some frustratingly failed attempts where my plans didn't quite work out and would bring me back to the drawing board.

For the sun I used charcoal and soft and pastel and for the moon, graphite and soft pastel. I used objects like place matts, a textured vase, a decorative mirror, and a canvas with textured gesso to create these frottages.

The subjects for these drawings is not what I planned, it was somewhat a spontaneous decision but I believe they turned out much better than my initial drawings shown below.
